During the final stages of contract negotiations, and within 3 weeks Mer Telecom has established a fully operational subsidiary in Tanzania (Mer telecom Tanzania Ltd) with functional and fully equipped offices, secured and open space storage areas manned by a professional team of experts.
The team included among the rest a highly experienced Country Manager, Turnkey Project Manager as well as Engineers, Supervisors and a Logistic team, all ready to start immediate implementation of the network expansion project on time.
The agreed deployment capacity was gradual reaching 20 sites per month within a few weeks.
The expansion Scope of work called for a turnkey rollout of an unlimited number of Green Field sites all over the vast country including all phases of telecom civil engineering starting with cell site design and construction as well as manufacturing and erection of communication towers, supply and installation of site equipment such as generators, electrical systems, shelters fencing etc. The fast and highly professional mobilization alongside with the proficient implementation techniques that were used ranked Mer Telecom very high within the customer contractor ranking procedure carried out on a regular basis.
Mer Telecom demonstrated proven expertise and capabilities in Tanzania and encouraged the operator to award the company additional turnkey contracts in Africa (including provision of communication towers, telcom civil engineering and telecom network services) a fact of which Mer Telecom is very proud of.
